Port Sorell, Tasmania, Australia, is a small coastal town on the northern coast of the state of Tasmania. To get here, you will need to have your own car, as transport in Tasmania is not very good and typically only travels between the larger towns of the state. It is a popular holiday destination among locals, along with the towns of Shearwater and Hawley Beach, which are also within the area. You should be able to explore all of these beaches fairly well with your car. The staff at your hostel in Port Sorell, Tasmania, Australia, should be able to give you information on where some of the top spots are to relax on the beach for the day. The tides in this area can fluctuate quite a lot, so they can also tell you about the best times to go to the different beaches.

There is only one main road in and out so as long as you navigate back to this road you will not get lost. Many of the main amenities are along this main stretch of road; however, you will find some good restaurants with great seafood venturing down some of the side streets. If you are needing to head out and get to an area with larger supplies, the nearest large town is Devonport and is about a twenty-minute drive away. Along the way you will find some incredible local cheese and chocolate businesses near Latrobe, so make sure that you stop in and explore those as well.

If it is a nice, relaxing, seaside break that you area after, you cannot beat Port Sorrell. While you are here have a chat and make friends with some of the locals. Most of them are quite friendly people and they will give you a good feel for how Tasmanian people live and what they are like.
