Waterfront High Rise Deluxe Reviews

Location and Contact

Location

• The Waterfront High Rise Deluxe apartment B is located just a 5 minute walk from the beautiful Jersey City waterfront with amazing Manhattan views.
• And you will be just a 2 minute walk from the NJ PATH Grove Street subway stop (you can use your subway card to get into Manhattan in minutes).
• If you want to go to downtown New York, you can catch the PATH train from Grove Street and you will be in front of World Trade Center site in about 5-7 minutes.
• If you want to go to Greenwich Village, Chelsea or Midtown you can catch a train and you will be in Village in less than 10 minutes, on 33rd Street in less than 15 minutes.
• The trains run regularly 24 hours a day and have no service changes on the weekend unlike New York Subway system. You can buy New York City Metro Cards and use it on both NJ PATH and New York Subway trains. The NJ PATH ride is only $2.00, while a New York Subway ride is $2.50.
• If you want to travel with style you can also get to New York by ferry - the means of transport that many business people from Jersey City use every day. The ferry departs from the Colgate clock (about a 10 minute walk from your apartment through the beautiful waterfront area) right behind the Exchange place subway station and goes to the World Financial Center, Wall Street and 38th Street. The ferry ride costs $6.50 per adult.
• Getting to Manhattan is quick and easy, the PATH train to 33rd Street will drop you off right in the middle of Midtown Manhattan, just a block away from the Empire State Building, one of New Yorks most famous landmarks. Times Square is also just about 10 minute walk away from the station. If you want to walk or watch a show on world famous Broadway, it is right there! The train drops you off on the corner of 34th Street and 6th Avenue and Broadway (right where they cross each other).
• You can also get off at the 23rd Street station to take a tour of New Yorks Chelsea neighborhood (going West towards 7th and 8th Avenues and further to the Hudson River). If you get off at 14th Street (about a 12 minute ride) and walk 2 blocks east to Union Square you will find a huge farmers market throughout the summer and stunning Christmas Market during the holidays! If you walk west from 14th Street station you will find yourself in the ultra hip, meatpacking district with fancy boutique stores (14th Street between 9th and 10th Avenue).
• This area is famous for some New Yorks best restaurants, bars and nightclubs. You can easily stumble upon a celebrity in the area because this is one of the places they like to live in as well as relax. The West Village (Greenwich Village) is close by too, just get off the train at the 9th Street or Christopher Street station. Not only does the Village have unique places to eat and quaint winding streets, it also is the beginning of the unique greenway in Manhattan, a beautiful garden/park that was created by converting old raised train tracks. Here, you can walk above the city from the West Village into Chelsea surrounded by grass and plants!
• If you take the PATH train to the World Trade Center, you will get off right in front of the Liberty Towers being built in place of the World Trade Center and right by the 9/11 Memorial. Visiting the memorial is free, but you need to get the passes online. You can also book a tour there and for only $10 a person you will receive a very touching tour led by a person who was actually affected by the attacks (the guides could be firemen or policemen who responded to the attacks in 2001 or family members of those who died in the towers). Downtown Manhattan has a lot of other things to see. You can walk to Wall Street (about 7 minutes) and see the famous stock exchange as well as the charging bull statue (Wall Street Bull), one of the iconic images of New York. If you walk for another 5 minutes you will reach South Street Seaport with amazing shopping and restaurants on the water and a beautiful pedestrian street, something unique for Manhattan. Just 5 minutes away from PATH station at World Trade center you will also find a Whole Foods Supermarket, a great local and organic food market with a large selection of artisanal cheeses, beers, flowers and more.
• There is also a lot to do in the area where you apartment is situated (Downtown Jersey City) if you decide to stay there for a day. Here you have numerous cafes and restaurants which rival New York restaurants. There are also many food stores - large and small - so you can cook at home. In summer you have 2 farmer's markets in the area - one in Van Vorst park (on Saturdays) and one right outside of the Grove Street PATH station (On Tuesday and Thursday). They don't only sell fresh produce there, but also all sorts of local arts and crafts and they have a live band playing almost every night! Liberty State Park is about a 10 minute walk away from your apartment. It has beautiful views of the city and Statue of Liberty (that's about as close as you can get to it without actually being the Island), as well as two huge barbeque areas. The park also has many year round events. You can take a ferry right from there to the Statue of Liberty. You will certainly enjoy the ride, the views of the immigration museum on Ellis Island as well as seeing the actual Statue of Liberty the face of New York City up close.
• You also have an easy commute to Newark International airport, it will only take you 30 minutes to get there by public transport. You will need to catch a PATH train to Newark (just 3 stops away) and walk across the platform for the train to Newark Airport. You can also drive to the apartment and chose a daily parking option in the building which is not included in the price but is much cheaper than parking in Manhattan.
