Our huge Meharangah fort towers over the town and presents an impressive spectacle by day or night. A tour of the fort is an unforgettable experience and can be enjoyed with or without a guide or by using the very professionally prepared audio tour. There is a fascinating walk through the old city and for those who do not mind walking up hill, there is a pathway up to the fort. We also have many other attractions for you to enjoy including the Royal Palace and the teeming Sadar Market.
Our family has been running the Ganpati Guest House for many years. Ganpati is just a few hundred metres from the friendly and non-touristy Sadar Market. Although we are close to the market and the main part of town, our location is quiet.
We have a range of clean and spacious en-suite rooms which provide the option of air cooling or air con. We have rooms with the bay windows facing the fort. Our rooftop restaurant offers a choice of Indian or European meals along with a spectacular and unimpeded view of Meharangarh Fort.
Jodhpur is on the edge of the Great Thar Desert. The region features villages and goat herders as well as a range of (harmless) desert animals. For those seeking a highlight of their visit to Rajasthan, we can arrange treks into the desert by motor vehicle or camel, with a highly experienced and reputable guide.
