• El Chalten is situated in the Department called Lago Argentino, on the northen margin of Lago Viedma, in the confluence of rivers De las Vueltas and Fitz Roy, in the National Reserve Zona Viedma in Parque Nacional Los Glaciares. El Chalten is contiguous to Lake Viedma and its reserve, and has been declared National Hiking Capital for the variety of activities performed by hikers and climbers
• Five hundred people live in this town, distant 220 km. from El Calafate on provincial route N�11, national route 40, and provincial route N� 23.
• If you come from the north you can drive a car leaving from Esquel along national route 40. After 180 km. from Esquel, you will find Gob. Costa after passing by Tecka, then continue for 30 km. along route 40 to take provincial route 20 to R�io Mayo, distant 231 km. from Gob. Costa.
• From Ri�o Mayo to Perito Moreno you must drive for 123 km along national route 40 to Bajo Caracoles and from there drive 383 km to the junction of national route 40 and provincial route 23, where you must turn to the west to arrive at El Chalten after 125 km.
• From the south, leaving from Ri�o Gallegos along route 40, you drive 375 km. until the junction with provincial route 23, where you will drive for the final 125 km. to the west.

• 1 . Caltur - from El Calafate
• - Go 5 blocks down to Lago del Desierto street, turn left and walk two blocks, we are in the corner, on the left side across Hensen street.
• 2 . Chalten Travel - from El Calafate
• - Go 7 blocks down to Lago del Desierto street, turn right and walk two blocks, we are in the corner, on the left side across Hensen street.
• 3. Taqsa - from Ri�o Gallegos and El Calafate
• - Go 3 blocks down to Lago del Desierto street, turn right and walk one block, we are in the corner, on the left side across Hensen street.
• 4. Las Lengas - From Comandante Luis Piedra Buena)
• - Go one block down to Av. Guemes, turn right walk three blocks to Lago del Desierto street and then turn left, walk two blocks, we are in the corner, on the left side across Hensen street.
• By plane there isn�t a direct flight, so you have to flight to El Calafate or Ri�o Gallegos, and then buy a bus ticket to El Chalten.
