Get to know Nottingham (no more "I wish I knew this before")

This section is dedicated to take away all your "I wish someone had told me that before I went!" experiences. This way, you can spend less time settling in, and more time making new friends in your chosen hostel. We share our insider knowledge of tips, tricks and important things to look out for in Nottingham.

Nottingham is located in Nottinghamshire in the East Midlands of England. This is a city with a rich history dating back to 600 AD. There are many things to see in the main city and the surrounding towns -- Nottingham Castle is the main attraction and houses the Nottingham Museum. If you like natural history, then consider a trip out to Wollaton Hall in Wollaton Park -- they even have their own deer population. Nottingham is also home to the largest city square in the UK, the Old Market Square, and possibly England's oldest pub, the Ye Olde Trip To Jerusalem, which is partially built into the cave system under the Nottingham Castle. The city is also great to explore on foot, as most attractions are centred around the main city. Not to far out of Nottingham you can also visit Sherwood Forest, home of the Robin Hood legend. Nottingham is easily reached by bus and train from all major cities in the UK.

There is a range of options for Nottingham hostels -- if you want to stay in the heart of the city, there are a couple, all within a twenty-minute walk from the Main Broadmarsh Bus and Train Stations as well as transport to the surrounding towns and villages. If you're interested in visiting Sherwood Forest, you can stay just ten minutes away from the main visitor centre. This a great place to stay if you want accommodation away from the big city, to enjoy a woodland walk or two.
