This section is dedicated to take away all your "I wish someone had told me that before I went!" experiences. This way, you can spend less time settling in, and more time making new friends in your chosen hostel. We share our insider knowledge of tips, tricks and important things to look out for in GaspƩ.

Gaspe is one of the largest towns on the Gaspe Peninsula and is home to about fifteen thousand people; do not to confuse it with the Gaspe region, which is far larger in area, as both the town and the other towns in the area are all referred to as Gaspe. Hostels in Gaspe are scattered. Some Gaspe hostels are located within the actual town centre itself and some can be up to as far as forty kilometers out of the town in some of the other coastal regions. Thoroughly research your Gaspe hostel before you book, because if you donā€™t have a car, many of these hostels are not close to any of the amenities such as food stores and banks. If you are within the downtown region of Gaspe, however, you will find all of the major amenities that you will need within walking distance of your hostel.

Within the heart of the Gaspe region is the Forillon National Park, which exhibits some of the most spectacular cliff faces along the coast and stunning beaches. The park is also abundant with wild life and in the summer months, a lot of very colourful wild flowers. In the town of Gaspe itself, you can visit the Musee de la Gaspesie, which dictates the local history of the area. The main street has some very cool cafes, and there are often art exhibitions down the street. The buildings also have a very unique and artistic seaside feel to their architecture that is great to observe on a stroll around the town.
