Busselton is a small coastal town located about three hours south of Perth, in the South West region of Western Australia. Busselton remains a sleepy resort town. Busselton is popular with both local and international visitors looking to escape from the big city for a long weekend, or sometimes even longer.

Busselton has many good restaurants, cafes, bars, supermarkets, souvenir shops, and boutique shops. The beaches in Busselton are family friendly, with calm, clear waters and sandy white beaches. There is also a famous old jetty (apparently the longest in the Southern Hemisphere), which is also good for dolphin spotting. There are also many activities for children, such as playgrounds, waterparks, and animal farms, making Busselton the ideal place for a small family getaway. There are also a number of short coast walks, which are ideal for bird- and wildlife-watching.

Accommodation in Busselton can be quite expensive, but there are a few budget options available, including camping and caravan parks and hostels. Hostels in Busselton are spacious, clean, and usually have several large communal areas. Communal areas usually include a fully equipped kitchen; inside social area with television; and outside area with tables, chairs, and sometimes a barbecue for use. The atmosphere is generally laid back and friendly. Hostel rooms, like the communal areas, are generally spacious with plenty of rooms for bags and other belongings. There is usually an option for either private or dorm rooms, and sometimes an option for shared or private bathrooms, usually with hot water.
