Get to know Turin (no more "I wish I knew this before")

This section is dedicated to take away all your "I wish someone had told me that before I went!" experiences. This way, you can spend less time settling in, and more time making new friends in your chosen hostel. We share our insider knowledge of tips, tricks and important things to look out for in Turin.

Turin is one of the largest cities in Italy, with almost nine hundred thousand inhabitants and several dozen hostels. It has been influenced by Celtics, Ligurians, Romans, Lombards, Francs, Savoy, France, and it was also the capital of Italy in the middle of the nineteenth century. It is an industrial and cultural center and also a very beautiful city with rich history. You can visit the Mole Antonelliana, the landmark of Turin. That tall, pavilion-like building was built in the nineteenth century by the architect Alessandro Antonelli. The Duomo di San Giovanni Cathedral (built in the fifteenth century); the famous Lingotto building, once the largest car factory in the world; and the Museum Egizio are only some of the other interesting places to visit.

Turin is also a sport center with international significance. The city is home to the football clubs Juventus and Torino, two of the most successful clubs in the history of Italian football -- the matches between them set the city on fire. The city hosted matches of the World Football Cup on two different occasions. The Winter Olympic Games in were also somewhat recently held in Turin.

Turin is a city that is visited by a lot of tourists, but when it comes to Turin hostels, the situation is really bad. The number of Turin hostels is quite good and hostels in Turin are spread out in the city so you can book a Turin hostel in the center of the city, near the train station, near some of the parks or elsewhere -- generally, location is not a problem. Prices of Turin hostels are a bit pumped but they are not too expensive. However, there are only very few Turin hostels that offer normal conditions and a lot of Turin hostels have small and not very clean rooms despite the high price that they charge. So if you want to have a good stay, you should put in some effort to find a good Turin hostel.
