4  Hard to find as the signs were sitting in a pile at the hostel. Clean, lots of bathrooms, good kitchen, although people stole a slice of ham! Still feeling bitter. Location was ok as we only paid for tram tickets the first journey and never paid after that, we didn't get caught.  ()
3  This hostel is very clean and the owner is very helpful. Otherwise, I think this hostel is overpriced for its location. There are no signs to tell you where the hostel is located, so when you get off the bus you have to stand around and ask people for directions.  ()
4  This was a really modern hostel, I thought there were plenty of bathrooms compared to some other hostels. The rooms were some of the best we stayed in during a month of hostelling round Europe, extremely clean and secure. Also the kitchen area was great with plenty of pans and utensils, and the supermarket down the road is huge. A large sign post next to the tram stop telling you to get off there would be helpful, but apart from that the ride out from the centre is fine. Very helpful staff, and generally friendly.  ()
5  It wasn't the best location, but you don't really need to be in downtown Zagreb. The tram is easy enough to navigate. It's a well-run, informative, clean and fun hostel. The people who worked there were really nice. There was a good kitchen facility. Our room was nice.  ()
4  I enjoyed my stay here but it was a real long way from the center and there was no decent signage to tell you where it was, so the first time we missed it totally. Very clean, even though there were too few toilets/showers in this place. It was worth it for the cheaper price. Internet services are available and everything was working fine.  ()
5  Nice friendly hostel. It's a little bit out of the center but in some ways that can be nice as well for a quieter location. It did not stop us from going into the city center and enjoying a few nights out. The tram is really convenient (get off two stops after the football stadium by the Kras chocolate factory). Make sure you buy and validate (orange box on the tram) your tram ticket. Plainclothes inspectors will make a beeline for anyone with a backpack or anyone they hear speaking English. We had one altercation with an officer who insisted he wanted 500 kunas from each of us on the spot — even though we found out later that the official fine is 150. Don't pay them — luckily we didn't have any money on us! But they will try every trick to try and intimidate you. Tourists are an easy target. We were caught out because Zagreb's 24-hour tickets are good only for the day you validate them, not the actual 24 hours after validation. Anyway, back to the hostel. Internet access is really great and really cheap here — 8 kuna for half an hour. There isn't breakfast provided but there is a huge supermarket 5 minutes down the road from the hostel, which is really handy. (You'll need a 1-kuna piece for the trolleys.) The rooms are really clean and tidy — the showers are lovely and hot. I'd forgotten what a hot shower had felt like in the two weeks of travelling that I did before I got to this place. There is a shower on every floor so you don't have to queue for ages for one, as you do in a lot of other hostels. The balcony area is really nice and a great place to meet up with people after a day's sightseeing. The Melin bar in the city center is a great place for an evening out and a great place to meet a few of the local young ones. The people who run this place are really lovely and will try to fit you in even if you don't have a reservation. They have tents in the garden. Great place.  ()
5  The best hostel I have stayed in. Friendly, fresh, and comfortable, almost like being allowed into someone's house. Go there! Don't believe this 30 minutes to town rubbish. It's 15 minutes at best but you pass the zoo on the way and can see some animals for nothing if you stand up on the tram.  ()
2  Yes, it *could* be a very nice place, if not for the disastrous location — they just built it in the middle of a remote suburban residential neighborhood, some 20 minutes by tram ride to the city center. And they overcharge you for this! Also, there are no free extras; a severe lack of bathrooms; and once again, a poor location. The beds are big and comfortable, and the chocolate factory next to the hostel fills the air with a sweet, wonderful aroma. But it still wasn't worth the terrible location — you better find some other place.  ()
