Unfortunately a terrible experience
I arrived with my girlfriend late at night and was almost handed down a shock that the hostel was full and that I had made a mistake by only booking for myself and not for my girlfriend and that they can do nothing about it now. At the same time the guy at the reception was rude and was asking me to pay for my bed when we were still trying to figure out the confusion and a place for my girlfriend as I was sure that I had booked for her. Eventually it turned out that he did not even care to check the system for her name and it popped up. Thankfully we had a place. Though very rude on his part. Further this was to be the beginning of a rather terrible few hours in this hostel. They have a card entrance system which did not work at all. The cards were flimsy and wouldn't work either at the room entrance or the entrance to the hostel areas. Mine did not work at all and I was left going up and down two floors to get new cards and eventually after five to six yes of doing it the guy would have to come to punch me in with his card. It was the same for my girlfriend though her room was on the ground floor so she could go to the reception, still extremely inconvenient. Overall a terrible terrible experience in our stay of just one night and we were relieved to get out of there.

Nice place
The only real hangup I had was the lack of wall sockets. In our room for the 1st day I couldn't find a wall socket so I had to use In the hall. And the walk into the city centre is long enough and not the best area. Other than that the place is perfectly fine and the staff are lovely. The back garden is another plus and even just for the outside terrace i'd stay here again.

Overall, it was nice
The beds were very nice compared to other hostels I've stayed at. The rooms and bathrooms were clean, and the staff was very helpful and friendly. The location wasn't the best, but it's right by a bus stop that can take you into the city center. The main thing I didn't like was the lack of outlets in the rooms -- we only had one outlet for 8 girls.

Typical youth hostel, nice clean rooms, bad men showers on 2nd floor
I had a nice stay there, not loud, hostel looks sharp, its an old school.

Recommended
Beds, rooms, bathrooms, and dining room are clean, with friendly staff and comfort common area. The security is great, almost every door needs a room key to open. Also there is a supermarket next to this hostel. But there is lack of electrical plugs with only one electrical plug in room and one outside the corridor.

Great location -- walking distance to downtown
Good rate. Good Breakfast in dining area ( toast, scones, cereal, juice, coffee, tea). Staff helpful -- got us discount tickets to Hop on Hop off bus for 2 days -- this is a good bus to have to get to all major tourist sites. (13 E each for 2 days). There IS free Wifi. The only downside is there is not a ladies shower on all floors and the showers are a bit awkward. No elevators, so pack light.

Not bad!
This hostel is a very good hostel. The only downside is, in terms of walking distance, it is far away from temple bar and the center of town. Also, the beds are pretty hard. I used an empty bed's comforter and put it under my sheets. But everything else was good -- breakfast, reception, security, bathrooms.

It was nice because you can park your car for free and the breakfast was the best -- especially the coffee, it was very good. The dining room is in an old church, that is very beautiful. And the other visitors were very friendly.
