The rooms are extremely cramped and the area is loud. I could forgive those things, but the room I stayed in (mercifully just for 2 nights) smelled horrible, and the shower door in the bathroom was broken. That said, the location is perfect for sightseeing and nightlife, and their staff are helpful and friendly. They provide free breakfast, just some toast and cereal, but it will help start your day. It's a great place to leave your suitcase, but I wasn't interested in spending any more time here than I absolutely had to.

Great location, lovely staff
Very good location, friendly staff ... Wifi was a bit slow and the rooms were very dark/bed lamps didn't work either ... The lockers are cages under the bed, but there's barely any room between beds to roll them out. Otherwise hostel was great.

the great thing abou it is the location. Really the best, just beside Temple Bar. since there are no lockers, we worried on our luggage all the time. Despite simple comfort, it was very clean. Staff friendly. Good place to stay.

It's a great hostel!
I stayed there over spring break in 2013. It was one of my favorite hostels. I arrived earlier than I could check in but the staff let me put my backpack in a locked closet so I could go explore the city for a couple hours before. The rooms were simple but clean. They weren't really big but I've been in smaller. The dining area is awesome! There is a lot of room to cook and a lot of room to sit. I met a ton of people in the dining room. There is an awesome board that helps give advice on what to do if you are in Dublin both in and out of the city. I also went on the Bar Crawl that the hostel promotes and had an awesome time! The location was also great. It took a little while to find because it is down kind of a random street but it is close to all the bars and was within walking distance of everything I did. If I ever go back to Dublin I will definitely be staying here again!

The best hostel in Dublin!
The staff -- 5-Star hotels should come here and train their employees. The staff was Incredibly friendly and helpful. They went to great lengths to make sure that everyone was taken care of and enjoyed their stay. I couldn't have asked for a better hostel staff. They made my stay a beautiful and memorable experience. The Location -- Ideal. I loved it. It is close to EVERYTHING! It is a little noisy because, well, it's in the center of Temple Bar. That is to be expected as well as cherished. I slept like a baby lulled to sleep by the streets alluring rhythm. The Accommodations -- Perfect. They'll even do your freakin' laundry for a small fee. Good god, I want to live here! The common room in comfy and nice-sized, the kitchen is huge. In summary, stay here. You'll love it!
Good Hostel
A good hostel but very noisy. I guess you have to expect that staying next to a bar.

Large, busy hostel in great location; it's a short stagger home from the pubs. It's pretty clean, but breakfast is just toast. It caters to a younger crowd, lots of people are around and eager to swap stories, but also school groups. Night noise from the street is loud if your room is on that side. I've stayed there twice while in Dublin.
Disgusting and loud
A friend and I stayed here for two nights. the first night we had a double to ourselves and enjoyed the privacy of having our own bathroom. the only problem is, you couldn't use the toilet if the door was closed, it was so small! the staff are very nice and helpful, there is an open kitchen although i was scared I would contract something from using the dishes since the guests are responsible for washing them with nasty sponges. The second night was the worst night of our trip hands down. It was incredibly noisy, we woke up with bedbug bites everywhere. Not only was I affected from sleeping in the bed, but my bag was stored under the bed and now all of my clothes have to be washed to prevent any more bites. Needless to say we are miserable. The good news is, the staff offered to buy us ointment for our bites -- how considerate.
