4   Nice Hostel Good location, easy to get to. Gustavo gave us really nice information and all the staff was helpful when we needed it. Breakfast could be better.  , age 26, Portugal ()
4   Solid Option Made a last-minute decision to stay over in Dublin and chose Kinlay for location reasons. No advance reservation but check-in was handled efficiently and quickly. The 8 bed en-suite wasn't bad value at 20 euro and bed was good, although shower/toilet was cramped space-wise and water very slow to drain, so a very wet floor. Decent security and also reasonable breakfast included in price. Unfortunately we were hustled out of the common room at 3am for no good reason, but all-in-all, not the worst place to base yourself in the city centre ...  , Ireland ()
3   Not so memorable -- No drinking allowed at hostel Place was clean and staff was friendly. The private room for two has a queen bed on the bottom which was a nice surprise. It was odd that the hostel prohibits drinking on the premises. A couple beers and a football game is different than letting people party in the lobby all night. Wifi was much better than previously reported.  , age 32, USA ()
1   Horrible I checked into this hostel early in the morning around 7am. The staff made no effort to get me in the room earlier then 2pm. The WIFI did not work after multiple attempts. I had thought initially if they had "ear plugs" at the desk that it was a bad sign. I thought about canceling and looking elsewhere but there was a lack of rooms in the immediate area as there was a final for one of the sports teams. The clerk at the front desk stated that he would put me on the fourth floor and I would not hear the street noise. Completely false. Dame st. is a very busy street in Dublin with Diesel trucks idling on it most of the day and night. The noise from the street was deafening. I had the window closed. There is no sound proofing. I decided to check out, reject the room. Initially the staff was very understanding and I assumed I would get a refund but after I turned in my key but I was told that I would be charged for that night even though I did not stay there. I intend to appeal to my credit card company. I booked this hostel primarily because I was on a Shamrocker tour the next morning. I would honestly say that the majority of the others on the tour stayed elsewhere. Although some people did stay there. I guess they were not bothered by having the wear earplugs. I do not have anything personally against the Kinlay chain (I stayed in one in another city and it was fine.  , USA ()
5   Awesome! Location was great. Met some really fun people at the hostel. The pub crawl was fun. Dorm room was pretty nice too.  , USA ()
5   Great Friendly staff, clean, spacious, and cheerfully decorated inside. This hostel is excellent and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a decent, cheap place to stay whilst in Dublin.  , N. Ireland ()
4   Two weeks at kinlay Stayed here for two weeks as I looked for a flat. The hostel was perfect for making new friends -- lots of people in and out, yet the different room sizes let you sleep if you want to sleep. You can hear a bit of street traffic in some rooms. The push buttons for showers are a pain, but really not so bad. I seem to remember the third floor showers being better. The free breakfast is toast, coffee, and orange juice. There's a full kitchen and it's easy to meet other hostelers and cook up a great cheap meal. I loved the old style building, the stairwell, the high ceiling common rooms, and the stained glass windows in the bathroom. I've been to better hostels, but this one had a great vibe. Overall, I recommend it.  , USA ()
4   Good Bargain, Clean, and Safe No problems here -- push button showers never impressed me, but at least they are hot with good pressure! I feel like they are way understocked on their bathrooms -- two or three toilets for one floor, which has about six or seven rooms on each side of the stairs! Needless to say, they got dirty fast. The staff were nice and let us store some of our belongings there for a week after we left until we found a place to live. Overall, you can't beat it in Dublin.  , United States ()
