Paisa City Hostel, Medellin, Colombia is an average hostel that doesn't have anything that makes it stand out. The location is outside the centre of Medellín and the "party" atmosphere they want to portray is a little forced. The hostel facilities are good and there are some nice common spaces for guests to use.
The Location
The area that Paisa City Hostel is located is outside of the popular Poblado neighbourhood and has a more local feel. This carries positives and negatives, and most restaurants nearby are local fast food joints. If you want a more local feel then this would be a good location. The hostel is located right next to a Metro station and so the rest of Medellín is easily accessible. The hostel is around a thirty- to sixty-minute taxi ride from the airport. It looks like a flat from the outside and has a small sign.
Rooms and Bathrooms
The rooms are of average size with floor space for bags at the end of the bed. A fully occupied room would be cramped. The bunk beds are comfortable and have curtains around them as a privacy screen. There are plugs by the beds, but some are not properly attached to the wall. As the hostel is small, you can hear noise from the downstairs bar.
There is one bathroom on each floor, which means that in the mornings you sometimes have to wait a very long time to use one. The bathrooms are of an average size and the water pressure is decent.
Common Spaces
The hostel has a central bar, which is where the hub of the hostel is. There is some seating around the bar, but it does not feel particularly well used. There is a pool table next to the bar and some floor space, but not really enough to dance. There is an outside patio next to the bar, which has some seating that is covered. The kitchen is of a decent size and has good facilities and utensils.
The hostel bills itself as a party hostel, but the party atmosphere is definitely lacking. This could be partly because it’s not in the main party area of Medellín in which travelers go out. The common spaces do not seem crowded, though it is possible to meet people.
Summary
The hostel lacks a lively and buzzing atmosphere that a party hostel needs. The location won’t be for everyone and the facilities and common spaces are serviceable.

Description
This is a new hostel in the nice district Laureles with colombian owners, who want to share their traditional, friendly, colorful and beloved paisa culture.
we are people "berracos echados pa' lante'" and we'd like to share all this with you.
Paisa City is located one block from the Metro station Estadio, which offers access to all the highlights throughout our city.
Within a few streets you also find great mercantile centers such as:
* Exito supermarket
* Jumbo (previously Carrefourt)
* Home Center, among others.
Traditional markets like the squares of fruits, handicrafts, etc. are located in the district as well. Thanks to the
sports center Atanacio Girardot (Stadium) on the other side of the street we have:
* GYM Outdoor
* tracks to make any kind of sport
* Swimming pools with olympic size
everything is totally free and many other outdoor activities are reached easily.
The hostel is close - but still in a quiet location - to the famous 70th Street, the ZONA ROSA, the party district of the colombians where you can to find bars with all kind of music and people from all over the city.
