Located at the mouth of the Columbia River Gorge, McMenamins Edgefield offers the best in food, beverage and relaxation. Originally built in 1911 as the Multnomah County Poor Farm, and later a retirement home, Edgefield is now on the National Register of Historic Places. Visitors can relive the history through tours of the renovated buildings and grounds.
Edgefield offers more than 100 European-style guestrooms, as well as hostel accommodations for a unique lodging experience. Each spacious room is furnished with inviting decor from the turn of the century. Televisions and telephones are absent, encouraging a tranquil retreat atmosphere. Free Wifi is available in the common areas of the main lodge and the Power Station Pub. Individual bathrooms are located in each wing, and suites with private baths are available.
