3 My room had bedbugs, too. The desk guy who looks like Dave Mathews is very rude, but the one who is English is very nice. There was a skanky used condom in front of the sauna, which stayed there the whole time I was there. I left three days early and was not given a refund. The lobby and lounge is very nice. The beach is outside the door and is great. Bring your own bedding. It's not bad for 22 bucks.

2 It is true that this is not a hotel, but I knew that before checking in. It is a little rundown (especially the basement) but I didn't experience any bug bites. It is also really hard to find. You have to get there via an alleyway. However, it is located right on Venice beach and the rooftop access gives you a good view of the ocean.

3 I recently stayed at the Cadillac Hotel. Honestly, I had no problems with bedbugs or anything like that. The staff were great and very helpful and the location is fantastic. I did have a safe in the room and a cable TV, and my walls definitely weren't made of paper! The manager, Edward Hilton, is not here. After reading some of the reviews I was little afraid of staying here, but when I got here Edward Hilton was no longer working here. Maybe that's why I didn't get any rudeness.

1 A friend and I stayed in this hotel and we were attacked by bedbugs all night. We awoke to red marks all over our bodies. What a nightmare. A week later I'm still itchy.

1 I stayed at this hotel recently. I have a couple of comments: 1. It is not a hotel. It is a glorified hostel. 2. The staff were extremely rude. 3. The place smelled — so did my clothes etc when I left. 4. I had bedbugs as well. 5. The walls are paper-thin. I heard a full telephone conversation next door. This place was recommended by Lonely Planet. I have forwarded them my comments also.

1 There is NO cable television (there wasn't even a TV!!!). The description says there are direct dial telephones and an electronic in-room safe in every room. That is a downright lie!

1 I suffered from bedbug bites, and so did my friend who was in the same room as me. It was room 309. It is so awful. I'm back home now and still have the bites and I am so itchy. We woke up one morning and were itchy and had these red spots on us. So we told them to change our sheets, even though that wouldn't do anything, because the bugs stay in the mattress and come out at night and bite you. When we got back, the staff hadn't changed the sheets, so we told them that we wanted everything changed and to even get new blankets. They said they didn't have any spare blankets, so I said, to take the old blankets, we don't want them. Then the cleaner changed them, but the next morning, which was when we were checking out, we woke up with more spots on us and they were big and red and very itchy. I even got some on my face. We were so angry, and we looked hideous. I accidentally paid an extra $20 for my room when we first arrived. We were so tired, and the lady told me the price was $130 so I gave her $140, and she gave me $10 change. When I told the manager and her the next day, she said that I had given her $120 and it was $110. I said I was 100% sure that I had given her $130, and she said she was 100% sure I had given her $120, and that they counted the till and they weren't over. But it's like maybe because you took that extra $20 for yourself, or someone else made a mistake with their money. That was the only proof I would have had so I didn't get my $20 back. My friend had accidentally paid for 11 nights, when we were only staying there for 10 nights, so she told the manager the next day and he said he couldn't give refunds. We said it's not like we are going to use the bed that night, and he said well if I do it for you then I would have to do it for everyone. So they should, because it's a stupid rule anyway. The manager is such a prick; other people staying there had issues with him, too. Anyway, if anyone is thinking of staying here, don't. Those bedbugs are nasty. I'm still itchy, and it's been over a week now. Bedbugs can spread from bed to bed. We went to the doctors and got cream for the itchiness, and the doctor said that just spraying the beds doesn't always work. It's best to throw away the mattress. I seriously don't see how this hotel will stay open, with this huge problem, if nothing is done about it. In the room we stayed in someone had written above one of the beds "beware of the bedbugs," so they have obviously had this problem for a while and still nothing is done about it.

1 Last night my girlfriend stayed in The Cadillac Hotel in Venice, California and had the most horrid stay. The rooms are full of biting ‘bed bugs' and ticks and the entire facility seemed to be suffering from some sort of infestation. After repeated biting from the bugs all night, my girlfriend brought one of the ticks up to the reception area, asking for an immediate checkout and refund. The management refused the refund until 9 AM the following morning. The bill of $100 was originally paid in cash earlier that night so a refund should have been easily possible, apparently not. After leaving for another hotel at 3 AM, my girlfriend returned to collect a refund at 9 AM the following morning. The hotel manager, Edward Hilton, refused to give her a refund except by personal check and only for $50, which was half of the bill that was paid. A personal check is an un-trustworthy reimbursement method, so my girlfriend refused seeking some other form of payment. Edward then grabbed her receipt from the previous night, ripped it up, threw it in the trash, and refused to give her a copy. Most noteworthy, the hotel manager was rude and disrespectful the entire time, including my telephone interaction with him. Needless to say, my girlfriend was shorted $100 with no apparent recourse. I just wanted to let you know so that you could warn others to avoid this place.
