Cheap for Venice and it seemed to be a pretty sociable place and the on-site bar, restaurant, and minimart was great, and the cabins (two beds per room) not horrific, but there were lots of cons too. Bathrooms not the greatest, very loud at night with the bar revelers, very thin walls, tons of mosquitoes, and the distance to Venice itself is a bit of a drag.

5 Have been watching a documentary on Venice and my wife Bev mentioned our fantastic stay at camping Fusina all those years ago, so onto Google and here I am. talk about a blast from the past. It was 1971, yep, Bev and I stay for a week, August if I am not wrong. We were driving/camping Europe for three months and without a doubt our stay here was the best. I can remember the owner, who had lived in Oz, played a guitar, sitting on a chair which was on top of a table, he would shut the glass doors, all the "oldies" went to "bed" and the fun started. I remember the ceiling and walls covered with happy campers names from around the world. I can remember the huge glass cane covered jar/bottle full of red wine on the table, it took two of us to fill the eager empty glasses, did we have a ball, singing and dancing all night. I can remember crawling into our tent at daybreak, thus resulting in our extended stay as we had trouble getting across the water to see Venice due to our night time activities. To those who are going, to those whom I meet all those years ago, I remember Camping Fusina with great affection. Happy times and memories.

4 Fantastic place to stay and at a great price (esprcially on the Aussie dollar). A tad hot but always a nice cool breeze of an evening to help with getting to sleep. Staff were fantastic and always very helpful. The ferry trip over to Venezia is only about twenty minutes and runs very frequently. The price for a three day pass was well worth it (only twenty euro) and enabled us to travel over in the morning, come back for a rest, and then go over again in the evening to experience Venezia by night. The pizza bar (fantastic pizza) and minmarket are very convieniant and close to cabins. Was by far the best value for money accom. westayed at whilst in Italy. When I return to Venezia (and I will) I most certainly will stay at Fusina again.

4 Really freaking hot! The cabins are good because they are private and cheap, bad because they could double as toaster ovens. PROS: There is a decent restaurant where you can get a pretty good pizza, a bar, and a market where you can get everything else. We spent a lot of good time playing cards and drinking at the campsite gathering place. They have Internet on an old bus at a pricey 3 euros for 30 minutes but it was worth it for the blasting air-conditioning on the bus. CONS: It's a 45-minute ride on a bus to Venice, the seemingly endless busloads of frat boys/sorority girls flooding the place every 6 hours with their "spring break whooooo" attitudes, and it's really freaking hot. It's worth staying for the price and a nice place to hang out.

3 The toilets were not the most sanitary, or practical. Lots of toilet paper is required. Getting past that, and the mosquito infestation in my cabin (which wasn't too bad as I didn't have to share it with anyone) the campsite has washing facilities (make sure you get your tokens at the shop before it closes!), Internet (though you need to get in early to reserve a spot), lots of travellers, and is a short boat/ferry ride away from Venice City. The biggest thing has going for it is Bar Fusina. If you like to have fun and meet people, and possibly get a little crazy, then this is the place for you. Prepare yourself for the Attitude Adjusters as they are LETHAL! Cheap, and hell fun. You can check out what goes on there at the bar Web site: http://www.fusinabar.com/ If you're looking for 3-5 star accommodation, this is not the place for you. I'd go there again.

5 I stayed here last summer and I had such a good time. We had a good time meeting people and the staff were very friendly and helpful — they even called a taxi for our group when we missed the last bus to the train station. The bathrooms were fine and it was on par, if not better, than campsites I've seen in America! This is a great place to stay and I HIGHLY recommend taking the ferry over to the city — it's very relaxing after a HOT day of walking the cobblestone streets of Venezia. Keep it up Fusina! You're doing a good job!

2 As an older couple who is used to camping in our own caravan in Australia, we found the cabins much too hot and stuffy! They need larger and more windows for ventilation. I thought I was going to melt!! The toilets and showers were terrible, although I did find one shower block that was a bit more respectable than the rest. We were here with our 32 year-old daughter and her husband. They had a worse time than we did, as they had neighbors in their cabin, and so couldn't leave the entrance door open, which is what we did. The meals and prices were okay, but I would have to think twice about staying here again if the opportunity arose, as a little bit of comfort goes a long way. We saw three gorgeous little black kittens here, so we do hope they are being looked after all right!!

4 This campsite is full of travelers, so if you're a traveler yourself it is perfect. I went travelling for over a month and stayed at many other campsites. This one was by far the best. It had a great atmosphere and an extremely fun staff. The cabins are small, but it's a place to stay and store your stuff. It's highly recommended if you want to meet lots of other travelers and sleep cheaply.

4 We had a great time, and the bathrooms were fine! I mean, come on, hot showers at a campsite? For this price, I don't know what people are expecting, but I was pleasantly surprised! It was definitely worth the price of the boat to avoid the long bus ride; and the total cost was still WAY cheaper than staying on the island. I think some people just didn't prepare - we met all of these girls who were freaking out because they didn't have towels. HELLO! Just think ahead a little, and you'll have a great time. Oh, and the bar is HILARIOUS.

5 Highly recommended campsite--great view, great atmosphere, great people. I just got back from a month around Europe, and Camping Fusina was my favorite place! The dorms were excellent--2 to a room with supplied sheets and all. I found the showers very clean and refreshing. When camping, you always have to bring your own toilet paper, so be prepared. The pizza restaurant was awesome, and the bar was even better. There's really nowhere to go out in Venice, so we hit the bar up all three nights and had a blast. The staff were awesome, especially the bartender Brett (no harrassment). We got to know the great staff, even the boss, and were supplied with free drinks almost the whole time---attitude adjusters are a killer!

2 The bathrooms are disgusting. Wear your shoes at all times, and bring wads of toilet paper to the bathroom with you. I opted to use a bush rather than use the toilets--they were that bad. Half of the toilet facilities were not in working order, so you had to wait in line to use the washroom; and when you got in there it was like walking into a rotten meat shop. Absolutely gross. As for getting into Venice, forget it--the place is so far out and the buses are unbearable. The pub is OK, but the drinks are expensive unless you go for happy hour. The laundry is too expensive and doesn't even clean your clothes; mine actually got stained from the washers. If you like to party this is the campsite for you, otherwise spend the good money and stay in Venice.

2 Bring toilet paper, soap, and bug spray. You'll thank me later.

1 The place is quite cheap compared to Venice's standards, especially as it only costs one euro to get to the city itself by bus. But that is the only positive thing you can say about this campsite. The cabins are terrible: small, clammy, and the walls seem to be made out of paper. We could hear EVERYTHING the guys in the cabin next to ours said, even if they were whispering! So, going to sleep and sleeping is hard at that place. The bathrooms are quite uncomfortable. There is no toilet paper. And so on. So, this place is okay if you want to be in Venice all day, like we did, and just sleep at the campsite, and not spend a lot of money. Otherwise, try to find something else!

1 While the bar is fun, and the cabins were okay, the bathrooms were unbearable. But the worst part was the mosquitoes. I left with about 40 bites. Take the bug spray into the shower with you.
