Our Pousada, as small and cozy family-run, bed-and-breakfast-style hotels are called in Brazil, is located on the foothills of Sincora Mountains, near the edge of the town of Andarai, near Chapada Diamantina (Diamond Highlands), a most-wanted tourist destination, with its national park, its lively and colorful small towns, hundreds of waterfalls, countless caves, majestic canyons and buttresses and a beautiful wetlands area.
The Pousada has eight apartments (one double, one triple and four quadruple), all with a private bath and screens on all windows, all with air conditioner, TV and refrigerator. Three of the apartments have just been added after remodeling and expansion. It is a two-story house with a front porch, an entrance hall, a small library, a living room (with antique furniture and a piano), a corridor linking the entrance hall to one bedroom and the dining room, also with beautiful antique furniture and a bathroom opposite. A double kitchen, a pantry and a small laundry room complete the main building downstairs. Two staircases lead up to the other seven apartments upstairs, one of them with a porch. From some of the rooms there is a great view of the surrounding rocky landscape of Chapada Diamantina.
Outside there is a store room and a garage and in the yard there is room for seven cars. It has a gazebo for resting, reading or chatting with friends at the sound of a guitar, for example. The rest of the front half of the 8,000 square-foot property has some fruit trees - mango, acerola (Barbados cherry), sweetsop, banana and avocado. The other half of the plot, gently sloping towards the hills is a pinkish-rock surface, fit for expansion or for leisure facilities and equipment.
