Redwood Lodge is made up of two lodges: Skired Lodge and Redwood Lodge. They are not on the same property, but within a few minutes walk from each other. Methven is not a big town, and you can walk to the shops, restuarants, and bars from the lodge. You drive in on the main road and then turn into South Belt street and then the first road to your left, Wayne Place. It is the very last house on the left, but there are also signs up to direct you to the Lodge.
This is a lovely hostel with very homey atmosphere. The building is not new, but it is well-maintained. We slept in an en-suite double room, and it wasn't spacious but it was big enough. The bathroom and shower were clean and well-maintained. Our bed was very comfortable and there was even a small TV in our room.
The kitchen is well-equipped and even included free coffee and tea. There's a very big lounge with lots of space to sit and lounge around. A very big dining room table reminded me of something from my grandma's house. We had a really nice time at this lodge.
