• From Quito, catch the Flor de Valle bus from Ofelia bus terminal. At the time of writing, buses leave at 8:30am and 3:30pm everyday. Alternatively, you can catch a bus to Los Bancos that leave every hour from the Carcelen station. In both cases, ask to be let off at the entrance to town, 'La entrada de Mindo'.
• You can alsontake a taxi from the terminal for approximately $35, or else Vinicio can handle all the transport arrangements for you. Quito to Mindo takes around two hours.
• The Birdwatcher´s House is 6km from the entrance to Mindo. Take a taxi and ask to go to Birdwatcher's House, Vincio Perez's hotel, near Santa Rosa. It should cost about 6 USD.
