Spread in 5 acres of wooded land, Park Village Hotel offers 48 unique studio type accommodations with all modern amenities including fireplace in seven separate Bungalows namely Magnolia, Maple, Pine, Lavender, Orchid, Jacaranda, and Jasmine.
Each building is individually designed in vernacular architecture blended in a Mediterranean neo-classical style.
All rooms face south and have two private balconies to
watch the evening glow of Kathmandu Metropolis with the magnificent sunset in the south-west and the "flickering lights of hamlets to the north".
The garden in Park Village harbors more than two thousand flowering trees and shrubs along with varieties of butterflies, dragonflies and nearly 75 species of birds including doves, chats, pond heron, kingfisher, scarlet minivet, paradise flycatcher, etc.
Amidst a totally peaceful environment, the only noise in the hotel is the "chirping of birds" in the morning and
"sound of crickets" at night.
On warm summer nights, the garden sparkles bright with flickering fireflies.
Truly a magical place for "star gazing".
A prime forest of rhododendron, oaks, pines and orchid is situated at a stones throw away distance in Shivapuri Wild Life Sanctuary which feeds pure spring water to millions.
As it nestles in the gentler slopes of the southern hills and lies slightly higher in altitude than the city, the place is "cooler in summer and warmer in winter".
Traditionally known a "Tokha Sanitarium", the air in this region is so fresh and clean that even people with chronic chest problems are advised to come here for recuperation and good health.
Within two minutes walk from the hotel is Asia's largest icon of Sleeping Vishnu, a massive sculpture carved in a
huge monolith.
Walking distance to the famous Vipasana Meditation Center, Shivapuri Baba's hermitage, Tibetan monasteries, temples, shrines and other heritage sites. The area is steeped in history with fascinating folklore and legend.
