Palazzo Ferretti Reviews

Location and Contact

Location

• How to get to Pietrasanta by car.
• From Florence airport: take the highway A11 towards Viareggio/Pisa (about 100 km). Just 5 km before Viareggio take the A12 towards Genova, and after 10 km there is the Versilia exit.
• From Pisa airport: take the A12 highway towards Genova, and after 20-30 km there is the Versilia exit.
• From Rome airport: take the highway to Civitavecchia . From Civitavecchia to Rosignano there is Aurelia road. At Rosignano you get the A12 highway to Versilia exit.
• From the highway Versilia exit: after the pay toll station of Versilia exit, turn left towards Pietrasanta/Marina di Pietrasanta (the road goes around and back a small green area). After about 500 meters there is the first crossroad: turn left towards Pietrasanta (if you turn right you go to Marina di Pietrasanta).
• You are in viale Apua, the main avenue from Marina to Pietrasanta. At the first traffic light, you turn left ('via 1 maggio') and you arrive at a large crossroad: go straight on, drive under a underpass and turn right (via Marconi). You see the Botero bronze warrior (in front of it there is the Town Hall). You go straight on and after a while on the left: enter into the old downtown. On the left there is Piazza dello Statuto, where you can park on the blu lines (pay at the machine and display the ticket into the car) if you cannot enter the ZTL zone (Traffic Limitation Area). At 3 minute walk from the parking at Piazza Statuto there are the apartments at Via del Paduletto 10-12.
• How to get to Pietrasanta by train.
• From Pisa airport: take a train from Pisa airport to Pisa town (it takes 5 minutes), and then from Pisa to Pietrasanta (it takes about 24 minutes). Palazzo Ferretti is 10 minute walk from the train station: at the staion exit you must go straight on, to cross the traffic light, and to get into the old city wall under the Old Pisa City Door. When you are in the Dome square, go to the opposite side of the square, towards the mountains. The last small street on the left is Via del Teatro (on the corner there is the Theatre/Cinema). In the middle of via del Teatro there is the small square Piazzetta SantAntonio (on the corner there is the internet point), you turn right in Via del Riccetto (a nice renovated narrow street): the first street on the left is Via del Paduletto. At the number 10 and 12 there is Palazzo Ferretti. The way from the railways station is about 400 meters far. On the map, it seems very far, but you have to think about a small village: you can cross the Pietrasanta downtown in less than 15 minutes on walk. After your booking, email me if you need the train timetable from Pisa to Pietrasanta.
• How to drive into the traffic limitation zone (ZTL) and to get to Via del Paduletto 12 (where you can park in the courtyard).
• You can drive into the traffic limitation zone (ZTL) every day from 7.30 to 10 a.m. and from 3.30 to 4.30 p.m.;
• I suggest to all the guest NOT to drive into via del Paduletto, but to park the car OUTSIDE the ZTL zone, as the medieval streets are so narrow. Do not drive into the narrow medieval streets and park your car behind the railway station (not in front of it), and walk 10 minutes to home (use the pedestrian underpass, and have a nice walk throught the old Porta Arrighina and Piazza del Duomo).
• Pietrasanta downtown is very small, and you can cross all the downtown in 10 minutes. In addition, I remind you that Pietrasanta is a safe area and you can park your car everywhere without any problem for thieves.
• In Pietrasanta, and mainly in via del Paduletto, there are no problems about pickpockets or thieves (in any case, there is safe in every apartment). In the last ten years, I have never heard about cars thieves (touch wood !). From the railway station, in 10-minute walk you are at home without any problem concerning driving in the medieval area, full of one ways and very narrow streets. This is the bad news of the ZTL traffic limitation zone, whereas the good news is the quiet and the safe of the area where your Family spends its holiday.
