The Vingelz-Hafen is a nearby UNESCO World Heritage Site near the shore of Lake Biel. It dates back to approximately the thirtieth century BC. The site is buried under mud, and so far has had little research. Several small neighbouring towns with attractive Medieval architecture such as Nidau, La Neuveville, and Erlach are well worth a visit.
