"Browns Hostel is a good base in the tiny town of Stromness for anyone exploring Orkney for a few days. It’s small but well-equipped, and the owner is very friendly and helpful.
The Location
The hostel is easy to find -- Stromness is a very small town, and it’s right on the main street. Note, though, that the entrance is off a small alleyway, not directly on the street. It’s just a few minutes’ walk from the ferry terminal. Buses to Kirkwall and other spots on the main island also leave from the ferry terminal, making it easy to explore... more »
