"If you're doing the Central Otago Rail Trail, Peters Farm Hostel is a wonderful place to stay just outside Ranfurly. Peter's place is one of the last remaining old homesteads in the area and will give you a touch of the region's history as well as a comfortable place to stay. It's worth staying more than one night here too if you can afford the extra time, as they have complimentary kayaks, fishing rods, and gold pans you can use. Plus you might like to relax on the old property grounds or do some hiking or local touring.
