Neptunes Backpacker hostel is located on the outskirts of Greymouth next to the main road. The owners can pick you up from the train station if you arrive on the TransAlpine train. Otherwise the Magic Bus stop is at the door of the hostel. However it has character, and it makes a change from staying in pristine hostels which can be a bit austere. The kitchen facilities are a bit poor, but adequate for a small number of travelers.
