Chihuahua, Mexico, is a great cultural destination in north Mexico, in the state of the same name. Chihuahua is the city where the Mexican Revolution started in the early twentieth century and the city where the Chihuahua dog breed was discovered. The home of the revolutionā€™s leader, Pancho Villa, is turned into a museum and is one of the interesting sites to visit. But in Chihuahua there are also lighter cultural activities to do. Festivals, concerts, and other cultural activities throughout the year, but most are organized in summer and autumn. Or explore the old town with its pretty -- although sometimes rundown -- Colonial architecture. Throughout Chihuahua you can find small sculptures of Chihuahua dogs.

Chihuahua, Mexico, is also the entry point to the infamous Copper Canyon, a canyon that is four times the size of the Grand Canyon in the USA. Steep cliffs, waterfalls, and green valleys are what make the Copper Canyon worth visiting. The best way to travel through the canyon is by train, which takes sixteen hours for the most comprehensive ride.

Do not get fooled by the stereotypes of Mexico when you plan a visit in winter. While you can surely bring your swimwear in December to many places in Mexico, it is much cooler in Chihuahua. It is not uncommon to see snow in the hills near Chihuahua in winter. In summer however, temperatures rise up to forty degrees Celsius. Therefore the best time to visit Chihuahua, Mexico, is from late spring till October.

The city centre is the best area to book your Chihuahua, Mexico hostel. The Colonial architecture makes this the prettiest area in the city as well as the area with nearly all the landmarks. If you book your Chihuahua, Mexico hostel in the city centre, you do not need public transport unless you want to go somewhere outside the city centre. There are also nice quarters outside the city centre to stay in a Chihuahua, Mexico hostel, but you will just have to put a bit more effort to reach the landmarks.
