I spent three nights at Bunrower House in 1999 and really enjoyed it. You sleep in bunks there, made of wood and all places are in an aceptable way clean - good enough for backpackers I'd say ;o)
A big advantage is the place where Bunrower is: 10 min. walk away from the busy and smelly town, nearby Ross Castle and the seas. People were very friendly and I hired a bike for one...Muckross Youth Venture Centre is located just outside Killarney town and is ideal for group sizes of 20 to 42 people. Dormitory type bunk beds are available.
Located on the fringe of Killarney National Park, the Centre has just undergone a major upgrade to include new kitchen equipment, furnishings and a parking area.
A great group setting for Girl Guides, Boy Scouts, Church Groups, etc....
