The pleasant team running the place speak various languages, French being noticably understood. There is a nice area for a campfire or grilling as well as a well adorned social area located outdoors behind the dining room. The public transport works well, and there are lots of very Black Forest towns nearby to explore. I want to visit the baths in the snow! Altes Schloss has a great restaurant and a B&B but I haven't stayed there. Comment by Scott from Canada The Thermal Baths here are amazingly relaxing and a must-see. The town itself is very laid back and picturesque with more than its fair share of gardens and fountains. The Altes Schloss was also well worth the hike to explore unsupervised. I highly recommend a couple days here in the middle of a longer backpacking trip to relax. Don't worry, it's not too touristy. Comment by Auson I've been there twice, mainly for the reason of enjoying the famous, wonderful Spa. There are two Spa resorts to pamper yourself. The price is reasonable, and you will learn the magic power of mineral water there. If you like this place, there is another version in Cologne. Comment by RL Baden-Baden is fun to explore especially with all of the staired ally ways that lead into seemingly secret courtyards with foutains.
