"I was here in January '07. This recently remodeled castle-hostel is tops. You can see the castle towering over the town as you approach Diez on the train. Spotless, pleasant rooms with hotel-quality mattresses and private baths. Cafe-bar is spectacular for a hostel -- well done, nice sound system, Kolsch beer for 1.20. The breakfast buffet is excellent as well, served in a beautifully appointed dining room. It's so well put together that it's hard to believe it was once a dark, damp, moldy old castle.
