The Cologne/Bonn Airport is far from the city, but it has regular buses to the train station. If you are on a Euro trip, you should consider visiting Cologne -- you will not only enjoy a lively environment and good nightlife but you will need days to see all the sights in the city even if you use the great public transportation and if your Cologne hostel is in the middle of the Altstadt. There is a long list of places to visit -- the Cologne Cathedral (the symbol of the city and a huge cathedral that took centuries to complete), the Cologne City Hall (built in the twelfth century and the oldest still in use in Germany), the Great St. Martin Church, the Church of the Assumption, the Basilica of St. Severin, the Holy Trinity Church, the Gürzenich, the Overstolzenhaus, the Ludwig Museum, the Schnütgen Museum, the Museum for Applied Art, the EL-DE Haus, the Imhoff-Schokoladenmuseum (chocolate!), and the Sports and Olympic Museum.
Cologne is also a famous education center with some of the best universities in Europe. The city is quite international and it offers countless places for going out -- restaurants, pubs, bars, clubs where you can listen to different music and taste any kind of food. It is a great city that is more than worth visiting.
