Montezuma, Costa Rica, is located on the southern tip of the Nicoya peninsula on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica. The town is a wonderful, small, touristy beach town that has a perfect blend of development and authentic culture and nature. From Montezuma, endless activities are available. As it is located on the beach, swimming, surfing, snorkeling, horseback riding, or ATV tours are plentiful and abundant. Located only ten kilometers away from Cabo Blanco National Park, Montezuma is a great launching point to explore the jungle and animals that Costa Rica has to offer.

Montezuma is small but does offer any amenity you could want. Restaurants and bars line the beachfront. A medium-sized grocery store is found in town as well as one ATM that dispenses colones or American dollars. Getting to and from Montezuma can be a long process because of the poor road conditions and infrequent bus schedule, but it's very comfortable due to the friendliness of the locals and their laid-back attitudes.

The options for hostels in Montezuma are exceptionally great for a small town. Always popular with the backpacker scene, Montezuma hostels range from environmentally based hostels located at the edge of the jungle to beachfront properties overlooking the ocean.
