"Working on a banana farm was one of the worst things I have ever done, but staying at Backpacker's Retreat made it alright. George and Vera are the most caring owners you will ever find. They work hard to make sure that everyone has jobs and work very long hours. They do everything they can to keep everyone happy, comfortable, and the facilities clean. "This is a great working hostel, with lots of opportunities to get a job. The security was an issue but there is now video surveillance 24 hours a day, which is great. The hostel is cleaned every day and the pool is always clean. There is a good atmosphere here during the week and great parties on the weekend. If you are coming to this area this is the number one place. It even says that in the Lonely Planet. I am sad to be leaving.
