Katoomba Ostellos(Blue Mountains)     "HI - Blue Mountains Katoomba - Blue Mountains YHA Hostel feels very cosy and warm, with really nice and friendly reception staff. We love the hostel, but not the biting cold in Blue Mountains!
The Location
It is easy to find and very accessible! You can see a big sign "YHA" when you're nearing the hostel -- it's just a five-minute walk downhill along the main street from Katoomba Train Station. It'll take about two hours from Sydney Central Station to get to Katoomba Station.
Rooms... "This Hostel is very small and has a kind of spiritual atmosphere. The owners are very warm-hearted people and always available for a small talk. The rooms are very tidy and comfortable equipped. There is a lot more in the living room, kitchen, and bathroom than you would expect. Everything is more like living in someone's private house, it's tiny and very friendly.
They offer pickup, internet access (15 minutes for $1), TV, garden with BBQ facilities, a camping area, heaps of video tapes...  "Avoid this hostel!! It has no atmosphere!!!" … "The night I stayed the hostel operator had several of his friends over who spent the day getting drunk in the common room and then passing the night by being loud and inconsiderate to the other guests. Combined with the constant slamming of doors, stomping through the halls, and a couple fighting several rooms away at 2:00 a.m., my wife and I were barely able to sleep. We checked out a day early to avoid another night in the frat house... "If you want to great place to stay in the Blue Mountains, go to No. 14 Guesthouse in Katoomba. It is located only ten minutes away from the train station. Mandy will welcome you and help you in this very friendly and cosy environment.
There are two houses -- the main one and the blue house. Both are very clean and have fully equipped, large kitchens fully equipped with an oven, fridge, microwave, and toaster. There is all you need if you want to cook -- even tea and coffee to wake you up...Katoomba Altros "Great! - My friend and I thought the owners of this Lodge were so sweet! They actually gave us a discount because we were broke, and for a place that only charges $22 or so for a dorm you've got to be impressed by that. About the place, the rooms were cold but we had electric blankets so that was fine (we were in room 5 -- not sure if all rooms do though). The place was a classic too -- hilariously decorated in faux velvet wallpaper, faded paintings and christmas tinsel everywhere leftover...
