A hostel with no seats on the toilets. That's the one thing that stands out most about this hostel. And these aren't the French kind with seats molded into them. They're supposed to have seats but they were removed so you can't sit on them. The staff says it makes cleaning easier. Great.
Other than that the rooms and bathrooms are about average. Guys and girls rooms are in separate halves of the building. It isn't a very social hostel but there is a large common area with tables and chairs (where the guests sit and talk about how unfortunate it is that their toilets have no seats).
It's located on the island of Guidecca, so you have to take a waterbus to get to and from the rest of Venice. It only takes a couple minutes but it costs you €3.10 each way (unless you buy a 24 hour or 3 day pass). There is an early 11:30 PM curfew and early checkout at 9:30 AM. You can only check-in after 1:30 PM.
