The Youth Hostel Munich-Thalkirchen is affiliated to the Deutsches Jugendherbergswerk,Lvb Bayern e.V.
How to get there:
The Hostel is located in Thalkirchen, in the south-west Munich, close to the
Zoo, near the Isar, forests and little parks.
Take the U-Bahn line U3 directly from Marienplatz (direction: 'Fuerstenried
West') to Thalkirchen (a journey of approximately 10 minutes). The hostel is
about 3 minutes walking from the station.
With the car, follow signs to the Mittlerer Ring, and then those for the
Zoo. Arriving in Thalkirchen, the JGH is signposted.

All prices include breakfast and bedlinen.
Rooms are segregated male and female, with the exception of family rooms,
and of double rooms which may be mixed providing that both parties are over
the age of 18.
A key deposit of EURO 10 is also charged on arrival, and is returned at
checkout in exchange for the key.
A locker system operates in the dormitories, for which a EURO 2 piece is
required, again as a returnable deposit.
Showers and toilets are located on each floor.
The hostel has Internet-facilities,TV room, table tennis room, poolbillard
room, and two conference rooms at your disposal.
There is also a self-sevice cafeteria, serving a set meal. Booking for meals
is in advance. Lunch packets can be purchased at breakfast time.
Our luggage room is located in the basement, and is kept locked. The key is
available from reception. It is possible to leave baggage here, free of
charge, througout the day.
We recommend that you leave all valuable items and money in the safe at
reception (staffed 24 hours). This service is, of course, free of charge.
Further Information:
! Individuell travellers over the age of 26 years may not admitted to the
hostel, in accordance with the age limit imposed by the Youth Hostel
Association of Bavaria.
We accept families travelling with children under the age of 18, and leaders
accompanying youth groups.
! Youth hostel cards are essential. It is NOT possible to stay without a
youth hostel card: student cards are not sufficient. International
hostelling cards can be purchased at reception, costing
EURO 3,10 extra, per night (6 nights = valid IYHF membership card).
! All bills must be paid on arrival cash or by credit card. We don't accept
any cheques!
