BVJ Louvre is also known as "Centre Internacionales de Paris". The location of this hostel is great. It is in a very commercial neighborhood with lots of shopping and restaurants nearby. There is a laundromat across the street. It is 2-3 blocks from the Louvre. Rue de J.J. Rousseau intersects with Rue St. Honore.
The rooms are somewhat dark and lack ventilation, which is especially noticeable after someone showers. Showers and sinks are in the rooms, though both are push button, which proves annoying when it takes a long time for hot water to run. There is no closet, not even any hooks or rods to hang towels are so towels remain wet. The mattresses are thinner than my fist and very hung through the middle, more like a hammock than a bed. The hostel staff doesn't know how many beds need to be changed so ask if you need clean sheets. Rooms are generally single sex.
This hostel books large groups (of both American and French student tours) who are often quite noisy. Therefore, while friendly, it is not a very social hostel. There are, however, two large common rooms, one of which allows smoking. There are both a luggage room and lockers but no one seems to watch them. Internet access is available on the premises.
