This "new" hostel in Milan is located about a 15 minute walk from the Centrale F.S. train station to the West. By the Piazza Lagosta take Via Garigliano and take Via Della Pergola on your right. The hostel has a small sign on the left side of the street. It is located about a five minute walk from the closest subway train station (Yellow line Zara), but is really not near any monuments. It is about a 20 minute walk or more to get to the Duomo and Scala Opera Theatre. There is a market on the weekends right outside the hostel in the streets which is neat, but it's mostly knock-off scarves and fresh fruit.
The main door to the hostel is hard to find as you have to go through a large double door guard gate and then go into a little dark outdoor patio area. The rooms are have bunks for about 4-10 people per room. You get sheets, but they are thin, so they aren't the best quality, but they do seem to be clean. The bathroom has a shower, toilet, and sink and is not bad really -- when there is toilet paper available.
The staff are nice, but often not around, so they could not provide information or help when it was needed. One plus about this hostel is the price. It's only 10 euros per night. But it should be noted that you pay for what you get. The hostel is bare bones, but with brightly painted rooms, and it's a decent hostel for a night or two.
