Nuevo Suizo is located in a tiny alley called Azofaifo. This street is not listed on most maps, but it is just off of Calle Sierpes, Seville's main shopping concourse. This area is bustling by day but very quiet at night. It's about a 10 minute walk to the Cathedral and Alcazar tourist area.
The building is a quaint converted house, with none of the institutional feel of some hostels. Rooms are shared and coed, but most have only two to four beds. There are no bunks, however the beds are quite close together, with very little storage space and no lockers. All rooms have air conditioning and television, and many have adjoining bathrooms, which are tidy enough. The bathrooms in the halls are less welcoming. Overall, the house is clean, but cramped and a bit run-down.
Like many buildings in Seville, this one is built to fight heat, which makes it great in the summer, but chilly in the fall and winter. Many rooms are quite cold. Also, noise from the common room/reception area can be heard throughout the building, especially on the first floor. Another potential downside is that with only one key for most rooms, it takes a little bit of coordination with your dorm-mates to make sure no one gets locked in or out.
On the plus side, though, there is no curfew or lockout. The hostel has two free internet computers, and also offers free coffee and tea. Breakfast, linen, and towels are included in the price. Overall, the atmosphere of Nuevo Suizo is friendly and a bit chaotic. There are some definite downsides, such as the chilly, crowded rooms. But Seville is a city with few backpacker's options, and despite its shortcomings, this lively hostel is still a good bet in a good location.
