YHA London Holland House

I spent four days in the hostel at the beginning of september and it was amazing. I met great people and had a lot of fun. The room was really clean, the baths too, and have absolutely no complaint at all. I was really afraid because i'd never spent a day in a hostel, but i give 'em five stars.

This hostel has a great setting — right in Holland Park in a beautiful mansion (well, at least part of the hostel is housed in the mansion). It's nearly exactly halfway between the High Street Kensington and the Holland Park Tube stations (less than a 10-minute walk each way). My friend and I stayed in a 12-person room. The beds are good — they even come with individual nightlights so that you can stay up reading or writing after the others have gone to sleep. The lockers are right next to the beds and are huge. The breakfasts served in the cafeteria are fantastic. The staff are friendly enough. My only complaints are about the toilets (they're in these tiny closet-stalls that stink horribly) and, of course, the hostel rates (over thirty U.S. dollars per person!).
