Nice Guesthouse and friendly helpful owner! I stayed there in 2005/06. I spent the New Years Eve in Melbourne. This guesthouse, it's not quite a hostel, is quite central located to downtown Melbourne, with the train (ten-minute drive). The rooms are in good shape, even though its old. But there is a TV in every room (only single rooms) and the linen were clean. Hawthorn itself was quite a nice area, not so crowded from tourists but neat shopping and clubbing facilities. The Library, for free internet access was only two minutes walking distance. The other "inmates" were generally very nice (except for a few "low-lifes" who lives there permenently). The owner were also friendly and very helpful! Basically, this house has an ambiance! A charm!
