Recensione di Hostelz.com
Gaudi Youth Hostel is reasonably near the center of everything at a great price compared to those around it. Gaudi Youth Hostal is not spic-and-span clean, but it suffices. The staff there is exceptionally helpful. There are two large dorm rooms at opposite ends of this apartment building that share a men's and women's bathroom/showers. Breakfast is not provided and there is no kitchen. Sheets are extra. Gaudi doesn't provide the most social atmosphere, as they only have one small common room, but they do direct hostellers to good bars to meet other travellors or locals.

This hostel is very easy to find because it sits right next to the metro station. If you arrive by train, take the metro to Catalunya stop (line-3) which is two minutes from the hostel, or change to line-1 and one stop to Urquinaona, in front of the hostel. If you arrive by plane: from Prat-Airport you can take the Aerobus (Bus) or the train to Catalunya Stop (Catalunya square), it runs every 15 minutes and it takes about 30 minutes to get Placa de Catalunya which is 3 minutes walking to the hostel. From Ryanair airport (Girona): the bus stops in Estació del Nord (Main Bus Station). Take there the metro (Arc del Triomf stop, line-1), 2 stops to Urquinaona station. The same way if you come by bus.

Once there, you have to look closely on the building ringer for the Gaudi sign next to the buzzer. But you can arrive at anytime; they have 24 hour reception.

1 Poor Services
Rules you must obey -- can't take bath after 11 p.m., can't use the kitchen after 10 p.m., you only can use them starting from 8:30 a.m. onwards. so if you get up early to have an early sight of the city, you wont be able to take a bath or do some breakfast. one of the staff are nice but most of them are rude. not considered. they are also not too fluent in english. if you have an early flight to catch in the morning, you would want to consider other hostel.

1 Bedbug alert
I stayed one night and started itching the day after. When I returned home I counted more than one hundred fifty bites and was afraid I might have brought bedbugs with my luggage to infest my apartment. I wrote the hostel a polite email about the matter which they have declined to respond to (this was three weeks ago), and I can only assume that they are ok with their role as a bedbug seeding station. If you get these things into your home it will cost you thousands and take months to clean it out. I recommend you to stay or away or at the very least keep your luggage very tightly closed up.

4 Very good time in it
This hostel is simple, but so good to live in! Big bedrooms where you can meet a lot of people, not good when working, but on holidays, it's the best. I've met my girlfriend in there six months ago! Everything is possible in it! And the best of all, cheap, and near the rambla and Catalunya place! Don't hesitate!

5 The Gaudi Hostel was spot on! The people were really cool and didn't mind us crawling in at all hours of the night! Great rooms, great showers and amazingly comfy beds! I'd recommend it to anyone!

4 First impressions were that this hostel was a lot smaller than initially expected, but that really doesn't really affect u much unless u get up at the same time as everyone else in there and are fighting for the bathroom! It's in an excellent location, within walking distance to everywhere, and not too hard to find. The staff are really nice, and the double room is fine, but it doesn't have any natural light. The toilets were very small tho-be warned! Overall, really good but not very romantic!

2 It was impossible to find; even the taxi drivers couldn't find it, which isn't much fun at 2 in the morning. The staff kept changing where we had to sleep. It's not very good for large groups of people unless you have enough to fill the hostel. The dorms were unisex, the bathrooms were clean but the toilet was very, very small. The air-conditioning unit didn't work in our room, but they may have fixed that by now!!! The rooms were bright, except we had a small ant problem! There was not much privacy especially when you have to change in front of a random naked German lady!!! It's location felt very safe; the staff were very friendly; and Barcelona was an amazing place to stay!!

3 This place is smaller than it appears on Web site. It's only two large rooms and one private room, on the second floor of a block of flats. So if you get in late you have to be quiet, which is not so good. The people here were nice but they didn't keep their promises. I had to move rooms halfway through my stay, which was very inconvenient. The place is impossible to find; even the locals don't know where it is!!! The bathroom is tiny, and as a big group we always felt it was really inconvenient getting up early or coming back late. The hostel is in a good location, and I was able to get a key to avoid the curfew. Overall it was okay but not great; it depends what you want, really.

3 This is a very basic hostel, but staff are really friendly and helpful. There is no common area to meet and chat with people, or anywhere to cook or even boil a kettle for a cup of tea! However, the hostel is kept clean and is a good place if you just want to sleep.

2 The dorms looked okay but the private double was a bit depressing with a window looking out onto a ventilation shaft. And you could hear people's TVs upstairs till 2 a.m.! Also, the toilet was not very nice.

3 Well, a quiet, tidy hostel in a quite good location. But I really missed a place to sit down, relax and chat with the other people. There is no community-room whatsoever besides a couch next to the reception area, so I didn't talk a word to anyone. Good place to sleep, no place to meet people.
