Sogndal is located by Norway´s longuest fjord, the Sognefjord. There are good opportunities for outdoor activities with fjord, mountains, and glaciers near by. Attractions: day trips to the glacier Nigardsbreen and the Norwegian glacier museum, trips to Flåm with the famous Flåm Line, the stave churches Borgund and Urnes.

This is in a really nice location and is great for getting up to the glacier. They have great facilities--large kitchen, large common area with TV. The place is a little old and "rustic" but is clean. I stayed towards the end of the season and it was very quiet with hardly anybody around. It's an easy walk from the bus station--straight down the main road and it's on the left just before the bridge. — CathG (2004-08-16)
