• From the train station:
• FLINDERS STREET STATION The Greenhouse Backpacker is located 200 metres north of Flinders Street Station
• SOUTHERN CROSS STATION s 1.5 kilometres from the Greenhouse Backpacker. If you are feeling athletic, you can walk it. But if your packs are too heavy, board a train to Flinders Street Station
• From Tullamarine Airport
• TAXI: A taxi from Tullamarine Airport will cost approximately $40 - $60 AUD. Journey time is 30 minutes, longer when travelling during peak hour
• SKYBUS: The SkyBus departs every 10-15 minutes outside Arrivals; at terminals T1 and T3. Purchase your SkyBus ticket before boarding at the designated ticket booths.
• You have two options when catching the SkyBus
• to our hostel:
• Option 1: Once onboard the SkyBus, inform the driver that you are staying at the Greenhouse Backpacker. The SkyBus will soon arrive at Southern Cross Station (SkyBus city terminal) where you will be asked to board a SkyBus Hotel Shuttle. When near to the hostel, you will be dropped on the corner of Russell St and Flinders Lane (see map). Walk one block west to reach the Greenhouse Backpacker. Total journey time is roughly 60 minutes
• Option 2 – Before boarding, purchase a SkyBus + Metcard ticket. 20 minutes into your journey, dependent on traffic, you will reach Southern Cross Station. At Southern Cross Station, use your Metcard ticket to board a train to Flinders Street Station (1 stop only). Walk one block north to the Greenhouse Backpacker from Flinders Street Station. Total journey time is roughly 30 minutes.
• From Avalon Airport:
• TAXI – A taxi from Avalon Airport will cost approximately $80 - $100 AUD. Journey time is 50 minutes, longer when travelling during peak hour.
• Convenient Parking
• If driving a vehicle into Melbourne CBD, we recommend that you park at the Federation Square Car Park. The multi-level Car Park can be accessed from Russell Street or Batman Avenue. The Greenhouse Backpacker is only a 300 metre walk from Federation Square.
