Exit the Termini train station to the right (by track 1) and take Via Marghera straight ahead to the 3rd left (Via Varese, which is called Via Bachelet in the next block, then renamed Via Castelfidardo on the next block...) for 2 and a half blocks and look for the hostel on the right side (just after you pass the park on the left side).

The best word to describe Asterix -- "Miserable" It is in an old building which is not that bad, but the place is not maintained well. The reception is disgusting -- I've never seen such a reception before. the walls are covered with different writings mainly saying who was there. In the room -- it was a room for eight and whether the bed linen was clean could be a subject to arguments. What was even worse was that the covers that we used did not have any sheets on them -- which means that you have to cover yourself with a thing that's not clear how many times was used and by what people it was used, and when was the last time it was washed. As far as i am concerned I slept with my clothes on and covered the pillow with my bath towel. Oh, yes -- no towels supplied. The second floor beds are not secured -- there is noting to stop you from falling while sleeping. In fact there was girl who fell from the second floor bed one night. The most miserable of all is the "private bathroom," however. It is a small area that is isolated from the rest of the room (I don't think it was originally a bathroom). In a room for eight there is a water heater with a capacity of about fifteen liters. This is absurd. In the evening no more than two persons could take a "really quick" shower before the hot water was over. Some people even got up at 6 a.m. just to take a shower. Refreshing, ain't it? Oh, wait, here comes the most funny part of it -- the toilet. It was so small that if you are a tall person you could be a bit hindered if you try to sit on it -- your legs would be against the wall giving you high comfort while doing the job. But this is an insignificant detail compared to what I am about to tell you. The ventilation is great -- in fact there is a fan that is sucking the air from the toilet and letting it out right in the other room so that the rest seven people could enjoy your masterpiece! I never used it -- I had to use the toilets on the station and the restaurants that I visited. The others did the same. It was quite a fun -- the first thing I did when going out to a restaurant tonight was to head for the toilet. The only good thing about the hostel is its location though.

Very disappointing! We had booked a "4-bed bedroom with bathroom en suite" one month in advance. Just two days before getting there (so very difficult to change one's mind and cancel!) we were told that there wasn't such a 4-bed bedroom, and we were put in two 12-bed dorms! Just one mattress sheet, no bed sheet, no blanket! Small dirty bathroom, without hot water!
Moreover, they don't accept credit cards, which is not convenient when you stay several nights. And you'd better get up early if you want to have your share of breakfast!
We've stayed only one night, and found a real "4-bed bedroom with bathroom en suite" in a real hotel nearby, for a small difference in price (we just had to negotiate!). It was 32.5 euros/night/person instead of 25.

This place was lots of fun, with great staff and a good kitchen.

Not bad. Only there is just one staff person working, who does everything. The place is kept clean, and I found no bugs at all. I just couldn't sleep much because of the loud parties held in the kitchen. Otherwise, the atmosphere is a chilled-out, kind one.

Good if you wanna experience the hedonistic life of smoke, cigarettes, clubbing and sex (if you are lucky). (-: Good folks keep away.

Yah, there are bed bugs. The reception staff is friendly, but make sure you get your key deposit back the day before, because the staff may not appear in the morning! Good luck if you have booked there, otherwise, strike it off your list.

The beds aren't exactly clean....sure, there are clean sheets, but think the mattresses are crawling with bugs....got a lot of bites when me and my friends stayed there....and itching like mad for the rest of your holiday is no joking matter.
