The family-owned Boston Backpackers Hostel is a very nice hostel where you feel at home. We arrived two hours earlier than scheduled check-in time with no problems getting in. After you get your own door code, you are free to get in and out around the clock. The price includes bed sheets and a towel and they accept credit cards for payment.
The whole place is pretty clean -- especially the bathrooms and the kitchen area. Each bed includes a solid wooden case underneath for locking your belongings, but you need to have your own lock. The place is quite small, so if you have a big luggage you will have to climb with it the steep stairs (however, you will get some help with it as well as pick up from your bus station/airport upon request). The living room is small but feels like home -- dining area, couches, TV, lots of city maps, and free internet (limited to fifteen minutes if there are more people waiting).
The location is great -- very close to the subway station (North Station) but all main attractions of the city are in within walking distance, so you probably can skip the subway like we did.
The only thing that might be disturbing to some -- every Saturday night and possibly other nights there is a party in the club/bar next door (to their credit, the hostel clearly states this in their online description). If you are in a mood for a party, it's a fun choice. If you're plan to go to bed early, you might be better off somewhere else, or at least ask for the room at the very top.
If you're leaving the city at night, like we did, the owner will store your luggage for no extra charge, and let you take a shower before you leave for good. Overall this hostel was a good experience and we recommend it.
