Set amid lush green lawns, indigenous trees and a large swimming pool, with a huge super tube for all to enjoy! Dave's Place St Lucia, offers rustic and affordable backpackers accommodation. The level of service and hospitality is excellent, as the Owner Dave Davies, has 22 years experience in the Tourism Industry, has been in the St Lucia and surrounding areas since 2004 and is also a qualified Safari Guide.
The facilities are based in a double story building, all under one huge thatched roof, which gives Dave's Place a tropical feel. It includes twin and triple rooms upstairs and dorm rooms downstairs, all with shared bathroom facilities.
We have a fully equipped self-catering kitchen, complete with utensils, stove, microwave and a fridge/freezer for your use. Guests can also choose to dine at the restaurant or fully licensed bar on the premises, while wooden decking extends dining to the outdoors and a large bon fire area can let socializing continue well into the night.
The downstairs dining area is ideal for large groups and families with plenty of seating and we have an upper deck, looking down onto the swimming pool, just for your relaxation. If you prefer, there are also the local restaurants, pubs and the beach, which are a mere stroll away.
We are situated only 50 meters away from the road leading to the jetty where the boats dock for the Hippo and Crocodile Tours and if you are lucky, a hippo or two could be seen grazing only a few feet away from Dave's Place!
We also offer 5 camper van & tent sites and a further 6 camping sites for tents. All sites are complete with plug points, amongst the manicured lawns and under the shade and shelter of our many trees. Campers can make use of our numerous barbeque 'braai' points. Excellent ablution facilities are close-by. The camping rate is only R80.00 p/p.

• St Lucia is the most Southern point of Lake St Lucia. This area was proclaimed a World Heritage Site in 1999 and recently, the adjacent Wetlands Park, was renamed iSimangaliso Wetlands Park, meaning "Place of Wonder/Miracle". This is in recognition of it's superlative natural beauty and unique Global values.
• Travelling from either the North (Swaziland Border) or the South (Durban/Richards Bay) on the N2 highway, take the R618 Mtubatuba/St Lucia turn-off. Follow the St Lucia directions for approx 25km. In reaching St Lucia turn right into McKenzie Street. Travel up the street until you reach the 'round-about' (circle) and you will see our sign 'Dave's Place'.
