• From the airport there are a few options:
• We recommend using Uber to arrive here. It is much cheaper than a regular cab. For example, to arrive here from the Juan Santamaría International Airport, a regular taxi might charge you about $30-40, whereas with Uber you would only pay about $15.
• If you wish to take a taxi: After you collect your luggage and go through customs, you'll pass through a pair of automatic doors. It may be a bit overwhelming at first with everybody yelling, 'Taxi! Taxi!', but don't worry about getting ripped-off as long as you get into an official airport taxi: they are the orange taxis that are lined up out front. They used to charge a flat rate, but now they run the meter, so it should cost around $30 or 16 thousand colones.
• If you wish to take a bus and taxi: After exiting the airport, go to the opposite side of the parking garage (you'll see it when you get outside). There you will catch any bus that says San Jose on the front. Ride the bus until the final stop, if the bus keeps going then it wasn't the final stop. From there it's best to take a taxi to the hostel. Just give them the address from our page (San Pedro, Los Yoses de la Subaru 100 metros sur y 25 metros al oeste)...it sounds crazy, but it will get you here. The bus costs less than 500 colones ($1), you need colones, and the taxi should cost no more than 2.500 colones ($5).
