Newman House Hostel is located 5 minutes from restaurants, bars, shopping, banks, and local attractions in the Uptown area and less than 10 minutes from the Boardwalk along the harbour's edge and the Bay of Fundy.
City transit stops are 5 minutes away at Kings Square. Maritime Bus Terminal is also minutes away. Airport taxi trips are 20-30 minutes from the hostel
There is a mixed dorm and a Women-only dorm -as requested. The women's dorm also can be used as a family room. There is both single and double beds in private rooms with shared bathroom. Some private rooms have private bathrooms. The main common area has Cable HD TV, pool table, board games and book exchange. Other lounge areas offer quiet retreat. Deck off kitchen has BBQ and lounge chairs. Kitchen has two fridges, dishwasher, stove, microwave, all small appliances and pots, pans, dishes, condiments and much more. Breakfast fixings are offered free. Guests are welcome to prepare their other meals from their own food supplies. Some days common meals are prepared- for example Friday pasta night!
Included in price: linens and towels, TP, condiments, breakfast items including cereals, toast, eggs coffee/teas. WIFI internet services, and cable TV also included free.
Bicycle is available for rental. Rockwood Park also has bike rentals, canoe and kayak rentals and swimming. Park is 10-15 minutes away.
Newman House Hostel offers Guided Tours to points of interest along Bay of Fundy including Sea Caves, Fundy Trail Parkway and Whale Watching. Local City Tours include Stonehammer Geopark information, Nature parks, local historical information, and unique points of interest throughout the city.

Location
• From bus terminal, turn right onto Station Street. You will see Harbour Station which shares the same parking as the bus station. Across from Habrour Station's front entrance, you will see Sewell
• Street climbing up to Dorchester Street. Turn right onto Dorchester.
• Hostel is on left in that block between Sewell and Carleton Streets.
• We are a brick townhouse with glassed porch at 52 Dorchester.
• From Moncton or Nova Scotia, take exit 123 off the Throughway.
• At the lights, turn left and cross an overpass bridge. Dorchester Street begins on the other side of the overpass bridge. Veer right to stay on Dorchester. We are in the next block on the left at 52 Dorchester Street.
• From Fredericton or St Stephen, take exit 123 off the Throughway. At the lights, turn right and cross part of an overpass bridge. Dorchester Street begins on the other side of this bridge. Remember to veer right to stay on Dorchester Street.
• 52 Dorchester is a red brick townhouse attached by garage to a large green apartment building.
• Please do not park in parking lot just past the townhouse. Thanks.
• If coming by vehicle:
• From St Stephen, Fredericton areas, go over Harbour Bridge and take exit 123. Turn right at lights , veering right onto Dorchester Street.
• Hostel is in next block on the left ( between Sewell and Carleton Streets).
• From Moncton, Nova Scotia take Hospital exit- exit 123.
• At lights at Somerset Street intersection, turn left and cross small bridge. Veer right onto Dorchester Street at other end of bridge.
• Hostel is on left in the next block between Sewell and Carleton Streets.
