Location

• Directions from Coffee Bay:
• When heading out of Coffee Bay towards Mthata, take your second right hand turn (Sign board – Mdumbi / Umdumbi). This will be the start of the gravel road.
• You will cross the Mthata River – stay straight until the T-Junction.
• At the T-Junction take a left. (If you go right you will end up in Mdumbi). Stay straight – you will eventually go over a small one way bridge, crossing the top of Mdumbi River.
• Stay straight until you see a soccer field on the left.
• Take the first right after the soccer field. Here you will see a sign saying Mngcibe.
• Stay straight on this road and travel for 4.3 Km’s until you come to a fork in the road – stay right.
• Follow this road for 600 meters until you get to your second left hand turn (do not take the first turning at 500 meters) –follow this road for 2.7 Km’s until you reach Swell Guest Lodge (Wind Turbine, Orange buildings) on the left hand side.
• Directions from Durban:
• Once in Mthata, when you get to the bridge start looking for the sign to Wildcoast / Port St. John’s (R61). Turn left at the sign/traffic light into Sutherland Avenue and stay on this road – you will pass a Sasol garage on your right hand side. Travel for about 4 km’s until you see the Ngqeleni turning – at this turning you will see a Lwandile/Presley’s Bay sign.
• (From this point onwards the Km readings are almost 100% accurate so it will help to measure your distances)
• Take a right into the Ngqeleni / Presley’s Bay turning and travel for 23 km’s passing straight through Ngqceleni Town.
• You will then get to the gravel road. You will now travel 37.7 km’s on the gravel road and you will come to a left hand turn. Here you will see a sign saying Mngcibe (If you go 200 meters too far you will see a soccer field on the right hand side.) Take the left hand turn.
• Stay straight on this road and travel for 4.3 Km’s until you come to a fork in the road – stay right.
• Follow this road for 600 meters until you get to your second left hand turn (do not take the first turning at 500 meters) –follow this road for 2.7 Km’s until you reach Swell Guest Lodge (Wind Turbine, Orange buildings) on the left hand side.
• GPS co-ordinates are: 31055.25.83”S, 29013.2.02”E -
• Please do not use a GPS tracker once you get to the dirt road as it may take you to the wrong side of the Mdumbi River.
