What's not to love? Red and Orange Rocks canyons, other-worldly formations, and of course -- for those who pursue it -- the classic "silence of the desert" per Edward Abby. I always love the feeling of dropping into Moab from the north on 191.

I was in Moab area September 2004 hiking in Canyonlands and Arches National Park. What a wonderful place to enjoy the great outdoors, in many ways. Now I'm planning a trip for June 2009 for more hiking, rafting, maybe some biking this time, and who knows what else!

Moab is a town that seems to be rebeling against the Mormon state it's stuck in.
